Monday night training

A training hike on Squaw Peak.

 
The SurfSET intro was awesome and really enjoyed the workout.  Looking forward to doing more sessions of SurfSET at AZ Extreme Fit.

New training

Tonight I will be trying some new training style to help strengthen my core and help with balance.  It is called SurfSET fitness, and it is being taught by AZ Extreme Fit.  It uses stationary surf board on special mounts that allow them to still more similar to being in the water.  I am looking forward to trying it out and special thanks to my new friend Heidi for turning my on to this new type of fitness.

Runners for Boston



Our hearts and prayers go out to the Boston victims and their families.  We are joining with many other running stores across the country to show our support for Boston by hosting a “Runners For Boston” fun run on Monday, April 22nd at 6:30pm at all 3 of our locations. The entire community is invited to participate.  We encourage you to wear any past or present Boston Marathon gear, the iconic blue and yellow colors, or simply any race shirt. OFFICIAL TIME

My official finishing time for the 9th Annual Pat's Run:   32:41

I very happy with this time.  It is faster than last years time and faster than the goal of 35 minutes that I had set for myself!

Thursday night workout

30 minute legs & abs workout with Erik of Life Recovery Fitness “Get Your Life Back”.  It was a great workout and enjoy the feeling of improving as the weights keep adding up.  Then a 30 minute break/car ride to Sole Sports Running Zone Scottsdale for their group run:

First I would like to say that my heart goes out to all those that were hurt in Boston today and their families.  I also a huge thank you to all the first responders, runners and others that helped out to take care of the injured and to make sure other were safe and taken care of!

Summer training plan

This summer is going to busy a busy training summer for me.  I going to continue with my strength training, and distance running that I have been doing.  Since I am looking to do the full 26.2 mile P.F Chang's Rock 'n' Roll marathon in mid January.  I am also going to be adding as much trail and/or mountain running in that I can, because I am training to do the Spartan Beast in late October.  It is the last of the three races that I need to complete the Trifecta, which is the special status of doing all three of the race in one year.  It will live up to its name, because it is 12+ miles of tough running and 25+ obstacles that will challenge me.  I do know of at least of 20+ of them between the two races, but it is the 5+ unknown ones that will be the challenge.
