Hiking stumble update

An update for those that saw that I stumbled during my hike last week on Piestewa (Squaw) Peak. I got my stitches out this morning and the doctor said it was healing up well. I am hoping to get back out hiking here soon, and still running until I do get back on the hills around here.

Spartan Race Update

     AROO!!!  I am officially registered for the Sacramento Spartan Beast on Sat. Oct. 26, 2013.  This with the my third spartan race and the one I need to complete my 2013 Trifecta.  Which means I am among the ranks of those who completed at least one of each distances of the Spartan Race within one calendar year.  I am training hard for this one because it is 10-12+ miles with 25+ obstacles.  

I also received my Boston Strong shirt yesterday!

Saturday morning jog

I jogged the part of OSHO to Sole event while the kids rode their bikes.  I forgot to start my MapMyFitness tracker at the start so I started it at the point where we turned around to head back.

Thursday night training




I was going to do a SurfSet class tonight also, but while cleaning up from my spill.  I realized that I was going to need stitches for my chin.  I got 5-6 stitches for my V shaped cut in my chin.  I think the Peak thought I was training to hard and wanted to try and slow me down. LOL

Tuesday night training

25 minute upper body & abs strength training with Erik of Life Recovery Fitness “Get Your Life Back”


Then I tried out a 45 min "Insanity" demo class at AZ Extreme Fit.  It was an intense, but good workout and would be willing to do it again.  Only if I don't do any other workouts before it, because it is a serious workout.

30 minute legs strength training with Erik of Life Recovery Fitness “Get Your Life Back”. It turned out to be a bonus session, because it was one on one training.  He pushed me and tested my endurance, and was very happy to see how far I have come in the past year.

The kids and I did the Bubble Run 5k this morning and then a while later we did a SurFit (SurfSET) class.  I felt great after all that and the kids still had fun with it too.

30 minute full body strength training with Erik of Life Recovery Fitness “Get Your Life Back”.  I got a special treat of a one on one night since on one else showed up.  It makes for a great focused workout that pushes me a little more. Then a 30 minute break/car ride to Sole Sports Running Zone Scottsdale for their group run:
