Friday Planks & Geigerrig

I replaced my damaged bladder in my running vest with a GeigerRig hydration system and then had to have it warrantied.  They did is quickly.  So, I asked GeigerRig if I could put their logo on my running vest for the Spartan Beast, and this is what they sent me. SWEET!!!

Wednesday & updates

Today is my rest day from training and the plank challenge.

Rest days are just as important as training days.  They give the body time to recover and relax from the training.  You can still can be active on your rest day by doing yoga or light activities.  I find that it is a good day to make sure that what you are doing is what you are needing.

Geigerrig hydration system

I upgraded my bladder in my Nathan running vest to the Geigerrig hydration system a couple months ago.  The pressurized system wasn't holding the pressure and Geigerrig was totally awesome with warrantying it and had the replacement to me quickly!  It is an awesome hydration system since it is pressurized, which means you don't have to suck to get your water!  I would highly recommend their system if you are looking to replace your bladder in your pack!

I would love one of their Rig Guardian packs.  It would be totally awesome if it was customized with the Spartan Race logo.

Plank challenge

On Saturday I started a Plank challenge that was posted on Facebook:

It was to start with a 20 second Plank and work up to a 5 minute Plank in 30 days.  A few of us have added a challenge to it to see if we can take it a step further.

The standard Plank we are doing is holding the top or high end of a push-up for the set time.




Our challenge Plank is holding the bottom end of the push-up without touching the ground for at least the set time.
  So far here is my info on it:

Saturday:  Standard Plank  20 sec / Challenge Plank 30 sec
Sunday:    Standard Plank  20 sec / Challenge Plank 52 sec
