Tuesday morning

To all my Spartans and other followers I have found the best protein for racers because of its time release protein. It's great for recover, training and race time. I have used it with all my Spartan races and during my training. It tastes great just with water and mixes easily.  It also works great in about any other smooth or even mixed with yogurt & fruit.



Monday

Didn't get to do my long run like I was hoping, because of losing my cell phone between work and the start of my run.  So, I spent the time looking for it and replacing it.  On the bright side is that now the new phone has a waterproof case, so I can take it with me more places!

Sunday training

The kids and I hiked around Papago park and to slow me to their pace and still get a good workout I carried 'Rockie' around.  The kids carried small rocks from time to time also.

Sunday rest day

Spend the day taking it easy with the kids, because of sore muscles a couple of small Spartan souvenirs.  I am feeling good about how I did yesterday and how awesome the kids did!  It was also nice to get to see some friends out there racing and volunteering. 

It was a great day, but I would have to say the best part of it was watching and cheering the kids on during their races!  I am so proud of them!  AROO!

Spartan Race!

Had a great day of racing and time with the kids.  I beat my time from last year by 4 minutes with a 1 hour 32 minute finish time.  This was a different course and location from last year.  It was really great course of 4.7 miles with 15-20 obstacles.  I had to do burpees for the the Rope climb and the Spear Throw, which is my fewest burpees race!

The kids had a great time with each of their race in spite of  each taking a spill on an obstacle.  I checked them out and then they finished out the race and got their shields (metals)!  AROO!

Kid's race times

I have found out the start times for my kids:

9 yr old daughter will be doing the Varsity kids race at 12pm

6 yr old son will be doing the Jr Varsity kids race at 12:30pm

Official start time

It's official!  I have a 9 am start time with bib number 1358 for Saturday's Spartan race!  The kids will be doing their first Spartan race about noon.

Monday Spartan 30 Final

Did my final day of my Spartan 30 a mile a day challenge with a rolling hill trail run at Papago park.

Also did some animal movements to loosen up and used a pcv pipe to help with shoulder mobility.  Had a 30 burped penaltyfor not starting my tracking app. 

Also excited that there is only 5 more days til race day!  AROO!

Sunday Spartan 30

I went to the Power in Motion Crossfit's Spartan prep course and learned some great tips.  I also had a great workout with the them.

Warm up:
PVC pipe shoulder stretches
Animal movements
5 Burpees

WOD:
5x 500M rowing
5x 400M running

I completed it in just of 25 minutes, which was the 3rd fast time for the weekend.
